Joy began before I understood how much my life was about to change.
Created in the aftermath of life-altering decisions: leaving a relationship that no longer felt aligned, walking away from a career path that no longer fit, and finally releasing emotional ties to the past, this piece reflects the courage it takes to trust an inner knowing before the outcome is visible.
What followed was a season of unraveling and reconstruction: solo travel, unexpected hardship, physical injury, stillness, and ultimately, self-discovery. While traveling in Croatia during one of the most difficult parts of the journey, I had the distinct thought: “If you want to experience big joy, you have to experience big pain.” That realization stayed with me through grief, pain, and uncertainty.
During months of recovery, I learned how to truly care for myself - prioritizing my health, self-worth, peace, and connection above all else. What once felt broken slowly transformed into something softer, wiser, and more grounded. With the support of loved ones, meaningful work, creativity, and a renewed sense of alignment, life began unfolding in ways that felt deeply abundant and intentional. This piece became a reflection of that transformation: of trusting intuition, releasing what no longer aligned, and discovering that joy is ultimately about gratitude. It’s not something we find outside ourselves, but something we return to after healing.
Joy is a celebration of resilience, intuition, and the beauty that can emerge when we allow ourselves to let go of what no longer serves us. For when we truly let go, life can unfold into something more beautiful than we imagined.
